Dangers of owning your own business

Do you know all of the dangers that may come up when owning your own business?  When you least expect it a property damage could happen in a multitude of ways.  Being able to prevent damages from occurring is a way to control inclement situations from arising. Protect your business from thieves by providing good lighting to the surrounding area. Secure your windows and entryways with well fitted materials such as metal or solid core wood. Protect yourself against electrical surges with power surge technology, when direct lightning hits during a storm, storm cells can cause damages. Be sure to unplug any appliances if you feel there is a potential of one occurring. Water damage is another avenue that can cause thousands in repair. Consider installing a water detection system to alert you to early water intrusion. Be sure to avoid pipes freezing by keeping your thermostat set to a minimum of 64 degrees. Always be sure to purchase and maintain your insurance coverage. If damages occur from neglect, there is a very real chance you could be stuck with a hefty bill.
