One of the more frequent recovery tasks associated with major flooding recovery are water logged hardwood floors. There are many contributing factors that must be considered when attempting to save hardwood floor. One of those being the duration of time water has been in contact with the planks. The response time to addressing the removal of standing water significantly determines the extent of damages and if the floors may not be salvageable. The longer water has time to absorb into the wood, the more difficult it will be to save. Laminate flooring is not considered a hardwood and it treated differently than natural wood. Laminate flooring is far more susceptible to damages and are usually removed and replaced in the event of a flood.
